Designed by a knitter. Built by a product designer.

Cocoa Skein exists to create knitting patterns that are as thoughtfully designed as the garments they produce.

Hi, I'm Danesha; the designer behind Cocoa Skein and the creator of KnitTech™.

I first learned to knit in the third grade after my mom's hairstylist taught me the knit stitch. What began with inexpensive yarn from Walmart grew into a lifelong love of creating by hand, from simple scarves to designing original sweater patterns.

Years later, I built a career as a UX designer, helping create thoughtful digital experiences. Along the way, I realized something surprising: knitting patterns hadn't evolved in the same way.

They were still asking knitters to adapt to the pattern.

I wanted to build patterns that adapt to the knitter.

That's why I created KnitTech™, technology that generates personalized knitting instructions based on your selected preferences while preserving the original design. The technology quietly handles the calculations so you can spend more time enjoying the craft itself.

Patterns should adopt to knitters... not the other way around

Whether you're knitting your very first sweater or your fiftieth, my hope is that every Cocoa Skein pattern feels intuitive, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed from beginning to end.

Thank you for being here.

I can't wait to see what you create.
