About
Hey babe! My name is Danesha, and I am the designer behind Cocoa Skein. Thank you so much for supporting my cozy crafting business! <3
I started knitting in the 3rd grade when my mom’s hairstylist taught me the knit stitch. That simple stitch sparked my love for knitting, and I spent years creating countless scarves. Back then, I didn't know about needle sizes or different types of yarn—I just grabbed what I could find at Walmart and started knitting.
As I grew older, my passion for knitting deepened. I began exploring different techniques and styles of knitwear. This journey of learning has been incredibly fascinating, revealing the endless possibilities that can be created with just a pair of needles and a ball of yarn.
Knitting became my escape from a busy world. Working full-time in a corporate job and juggling many commitments left me feeling burnt out. Knitting filled that creative gap and reminded me to take it easy. Creating anything takes time, and designing patterns requires patience and intention. That’s why I started designing patterns—to slow down and inspire others to do the same.
In a fast-paced world, we often miss the beauty around us. Knitting helps us slow down, appreciate our surroundings, and find peace in the present moment. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope my patterns bring you the same sense of calm and creativity they bring me :)
